Was The movie 'A Simple Favor' Based on a True Story?

No, "A Simple Favor" is not based on a true story. It is adapted from Darcey Bell's 2017 novel with the same title. The movie has been in development since 2016, and Paul Feig directed it after Jessica Sharzer wrote the screenplay.

Unlike typical thrillers, Feig included comedic elements, making the movie unique. Although the plot has classic thriller components, Feig's goal was to add Hitchcock-like humor. "A Simple Favor" is purely fictional and not based on real events.
