Abigail Ending Explained

Once the kidnappers start disappearing one by one, we find out that it was Abigail who planned her kidnapping, and she's done it many times before. Lambert, whom Frank and Joey thought they were working for, is helping Abigail, who is an ageless vampire child. She lures criminals to her home under the guise of kidnapping victims to keep herself entertained.

Trapped with no escape, Frank and Joey discover a secret passage that leads them to Lambert, now turned into a vampire by Abigail. Lambert offers Frank a deal: join him, become a vampire, and together they can kill Abigail and her crime boss father, Kristof Lazar, to take over their business. Frank agrees but betrays Lambert and goes after Joey and Abigail.

As Frank pursues them, Joey and Abigail team up to defend themselves. They manage to kill Frank and form an uneasy alliance. Their strange night together bonds them, but just as Joey is about to leave, Kristof Lazar arrives, appearing like a modern Dracula.

Abigail pleads for mercy, revealing that Joey saved her life. Moved by his daughter's words, Kristof lets Joey go, allowing her to start a new life with her son. Though the danger seems over, the possibility of Dracula or Abigail calling on Joey again lingers, leaving room for a potential sequel.

Abigail allows Joey to live in the end

Abigail lets Joey live because they made a deal. Joey promised to help Abigail defeat Frank, and she also saved Abigail's life. Joey showed kindness to Abigail throughout the movie and was very protective of her. Abigail might have seen that Joey wanted to do right by her son, Caleb, and didn't want to leave him without a mother like her father did to her. Joey had a chance to kill both Frank and Abigail after becoming a vampire, but she chose to help Abigail instead. This showed trust and goodwill between them.

Explaining Matthew Goode's Character: Is He Dracula, Abigail's Father?

In the scary and bloody movie Abigail, they talk about Kristof Lazar a lot, but he doesn't show up until the end. Played by Matthew Goode, Abigail's dad almost hurts Joey, but he stops when Abigail asks him to. Abigail hints that her dad is Dracula, like the one from the old Dracula movies. Abigail is like a new version of Dracula's daughter in the movie Dracula’s Daughter from 1936. In that movie, Dracula’s daughter wants to get away from her dad's control.

But Abigail, Dracula's daughter, wants her dad to notice her. Even though Abigail's story isn't exactly like Dracula’s Daughter, it's pretty clear that her dad is supposed to be Count Dracula from Bram Stoker's story. In Abigail, we don't see much of her dad, and the movie doesn't say for sure that he's Dracula. But when he shows up at the end, played by Goode, his actions and how he acts give us a hint that he might be Dracula.

Explaining Frank's Villainous Twist and Plan for Abigail

In a surprising turn, Frank becomes a bad guy at the end of Abigail. Instead of teaming up with Lambert, he wants to take down Abigail by himself and become the top vampire. He thinks if he gets rid of Abigail, it'll be easier to kill Kristoff Lazar. Turning Joey into a vampire was part of his plan because he thought he could make her do what he wanted.

Even though his plan to get back at Abigail doesn't work, becoming a vampire gives him hope that he can still get revenge on her and her dad. Frank's change from a good guy to a villain is a big twist in the movie. He thinks becoming a vampire will help him get what he wants, but it doesn't go as planned. His actions show that sometimes people do bad things because they think it'll help them in some way.

Understanding the Surprise Twist in Abigail's Kidnapping

In a sneaky move, Abigail pretended to be scared when she was kidnapped, but then she showed that she planned it all. She wanted revenge on everyone who went against her dad, even though it wasn't always on purpose. She also wanted to capture and hurt Joey and her friends to get her dad's attention. Abigail thought if she hurt enough of his enemies, he would come back and care about her.

She was also bored, so she liked scaring her victims before she hurt them because she didn't have anything else to do. Abigail's actions show that she was really upset and lonely. She wanted her dad to notice her and be proud of her. But instead of talking to him about it, she did some terrible things. This shows that sometimes, when people are feeling bad, they might do things that hurt others. It's important to talk about our feelings instead of hurting people.

True Identities and Stories Behind Abigail's "Rat Pack"

Abigail picked the "Rat Pack" herself because they had all crossed paths with her dad, Kristof Lazar, in the past. We don't know why Dean and Rickles were chosen, but Abigail tells us about the others. Joey's real name is Anna Lucia Cruz. She used to be a medic but lost her job because she got addicted to medicine. She left her son and started working as a secret medic, but she hurt someone close to Kristof Lazar while she was high.

Frank is Adam Barnett. He used to be a detective but felt sad after Abigail killed some people he arrested. He left his family and felt lost. Rickles was Terrence LaCroix. He was in a gang in Montreal and stole from one of Kristof Lazar's groups. And Sammy, or Jessica Hurney, was a hacker who stole from another of Lazar's groups. So, it's no surprise they all got involved in kidnapping Abigail together. They all had some connection to her dad, and Abigail knew they would be useful for her plan.

Setting the Stage for Abigail 2: Exploring Abigail's Conclusion

Joey managed to escape with her life, but Abigail and her dad were still out there. It seems like Abigail and Kristof Lazar are getting along better, so they might team up in the future. Abigail let Joey go, but she didn't promise she'd stop hurting people. If her dad joins her, they could cause even more trouble together. Maybe Joey will become a vampire hunter to stop them.

The directors, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, are thinking about making a sequel, but they haven't decided yet. They said they liked how Abigail's story ended in the first movie. Even though Abigail's story could continue, the movie doesn't have to have a sequel. But if the directors do decide to make one, fans would love to see what happens next.

True Meaning of Abigail

In Abigail, things turn upside down when the criminals become the ones in danger. Abigail is a powerful vampire, but her ending teaches us not to judge someone by how they look or what we think they can do. This lesson applies to the Rat Pack too. Each of them had skills and stories that didn't fit the usual ideas.
