Country Music Awards 2024
The 2024 CMT Music Awards is the 23rd edition that took place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on April 7, 2024. The nominees were revealed on March 13, 2024. Then, on April 1, they reduced the Video of the Year nominees to show the top six videos. Finally, on April 4, they shorted it down to only show the top three nominees. The CMT Music Awards is the only awards show in country music where the winners are chosen entirely by fans' votes.
On March 25, CMT said that Trisha Yearwood would get the first-ever "June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award." This award is for someone in the music industry who does a lot to help others, like June Carter Cash did. Yearwood also sang at the event. Jane Seymour, who was friends with Carter Cash, gave her the award. On April 4, CMT said that Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson, and Sammy Hagar would do a special performance to honor Toby Keith. Toby Keith was a famous country music singer who won CMT Awards. Sadly, he passed away on February 5, 2024.
