Doctor Who Empire of Death Ending Explained
In "Doctor Who: Empire of Death," a bad guy called Sutekh beats the Doctor and spreads a scary Dust of Death on Earth and other places. The Doctor, Ruby, and Mel run away and face Sutekh, who lets the Doctor live to know about Ruby's mother. Sutekh's control goes far, reaching Skaro too.
The Doctor gets a big hint from a woman on a dying world, using the Time Window to find Ruby's mother's name. Louise Miller, a normal woman, is shown as Ruby's mother. Ruby finds her mom and wants to see her dad, while the Doctor leaves Ruby, saying they will meet again and warns of bad things coming soon.
Survival of Sutekh: What Ensured His Existence?
In 1975, in "Pyramids of Mars," the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane met Sutekh, a strong Osiran god. People saw him as a god in old Egypt. They found Sutekh stuck in a pyramid on Earth, held by the Eye of Horus on Mars.
Even though the Doctor tried, Sutekh ran away and seemed to die in the future. In "Empire of Death," the Doctor knows Sutekh lived by holding onto the TARDIS. He became like a god over time. He says he has been with the Doctor, guiding events and waiting to come back.
How Did Sutekh Meet His End?
In "The Tale of Ruby Sunday" from Doctor Who show, Sutekh, now free, uses a bad dust to destroy all life on Earth, beginning with Kate and her team, then reaching everywhere. Even though he's very strong, Sutekh is interested in Ruby Sunday's mom and spares the Doctor and Ruby to find out who she is.
Ruby, with the Doctor and a magic rope from TARDIS, diverts Sutekh to gain power back. The Doctor uses the TARDIS's power to defeat Sutekh's ally and trap Sutekh himself in the time vortex, ending his reign of terror.
How did they all return to life?
Sutekh was defeated, but what about the terrible things he caused across the universe? In "The Tale of Ruby Sunday" from Doctor Who show, Sutekh, now free, uses a bad dust to destroy all life on Earth, beginning with Kate and her team, then reaching everywhere. Even though he's very strong, Sutekh is interested in Ruby Sunday's mom.
And spares the Doctor and Ruby to find out who she is. Ruby, with the Doctor and a magic rope from TARDIS, diverts Sutekh to gain power back. This included Kate Stewart, Carla, Cherry, Mrs. Flood, and others like Melanie Bush, Morris Gibbons, and Rose Noble who were all revived and saved from Sutekh's devastation.
What role did Susan Twist play?
After invading the TARDIS, Sutekh learned all its "secrets," including memories of Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter. With his strong magic, Sutekh made Susan show up wherever the TARDIS went. Every time it stopped, she came back and got stronger.
The newest Susan, Susan Triad, became a smart tech boss. Even after Sutekh lost, Susan Triad lived on with her family. Mel says, "The god of death made life." Kate thinks Susan might join UNIT because of her clever mind, hinting she'll still play a role in the future.
Who was the mother of Ruby?
Thanks to Roger Ap Gwilliam's new rule for DNA tests, the Doctor and Ruby found out who Ruby's mother was. Her name is Louise Miller, and she left Ruby at the church on Ruby Road to keep her safe. Louise was just a regular person, but powerful forces like Sutekh were interested in her, making her important in ways nobody expected.
The Doctor explained, "She's important because we believe she's important." Even though she seemed ordinary, the universe saw her as someone special. Louise named Ruby after the road sign when she left her, though it's a mystery why she wore a hooded robe that night. Maybe it was for drama, or maybe it was part of the strange magic that surrounded her and Ruby.
