Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal is a 2020 first-person shooter game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. It's the sequel to Doom (2016) and the seventh game in the Doom series. The story follows the Doom Slayer as he battles to save Earth from Hell's forces and stop an alien threat.
The game features a single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode called Battlemode, where players can fight as either the Doom Slayer or demons. Doom Eternal was praised for its graphics, gameplay, and soundtrack. It received several award nominations and has a prequel called Doom: The Dark Ages set for release in 2025.
Doom Eternal Plot
In Doom Eternal, set in 2163, Earth is overrun by demons, wiping out most of the population. The Doom Slayer returns to stop the invasion by killing the Hell Priests, who serve the Khan Maykr, an angelic being with plans to sacrifice humanity. The Slayer hunts down the priests across different worlds, facing off against powerful demons.
He learns about the Khan Maykr's pact with Hell and the creation of Argent energy. After defeating the Khan Maykr, the Slayer battles and kills the massive demon, the Icon of Sin, ending the demonic invasion and saving Earth.
Doom Eternal Gameplay
In Doom Eternal, players take on the role of the Doom Slayer, battling the forces of Hell in a fast-paced, first-person shooter. The game emphasizes aggressive combat, requiring players to engage enemies to gain health, ammo, and armor.
Players have access to a variety of powerful weapons, including shotguns, rocket launchers, and melee tools like the Doomblade and chainsaw. New movement options like wall-climbing and dashing add to the action.
The game also features "Destructible Demons," where enemies visually deteriorate as they take damage. Multiplayer modes like Battlemode and Horde mode offer additional challenges.
