Fallout 76 Gameplay
Fallout 76 is Bethesda's first multiplayer game set in a vast, post-apocalyptic West Virginia. You can play alone or team up with up to three others on public servers. It features real-time combat and a huge world four times larger than Fallout 4, with landmarks and mutated creatures inspired by local folklore.
At first, there were no human NPCs; instead, the story unfolds through robots, holotypes, and exploring the environment. Updates like Wastelanders added human NPCs and expanded on building settlements. You can even use nuclear weapons to change parts of the map temporarily. Plus, there's a photo mode to capture your adventures in the wasteland.
Fallout 76 Plot
Fallout 76 is set 25 years after a nuclear war. Vault 76 opens, and its residents are tasked with repopulating Appalachia. They discover a secret mission to secure nuclear weapons scattered across the region. Facing mutated creatures called Scorched, controlled by massive Scorchbeasts, players ally with factions like the Responders.
They use alliances and technology to uncover the source of the Scorched Plague and prepare to confront it. After locating and destroying a Scorchbeast nest with a nuclear missile, they defeat a powerful Scorchbeast Queen. This victory restores peace to Appalachia, allowing residents to focus on rebuilding alongside new arrivals and factions.
