FF14 Preliminary will begin on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 2:00 a.m. (PDT). During this time, players can get a sneak peek of FF14: Dawntrail before its official release! To enjoy all the new features in Dawntrail, players need to have already played Endwalker and finished specific quests.

The Preliminary period starts on June 28 at 2:00 a.m. (PDT). Before it begins, the game will go through maintenance to update and fix any known issues related to the expansion. Players who meet the requirements can explore Dawntrail's new content before everyone else. If players haven't met these requirements, they can still enjoy other parts of the game outside of Dawntrail.

To participate in the Preliminary period, players need to meet these criteria: they must have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV Service Account on the SQUARE ENIX Account, an active subscription or remaining subscription days on the Mog Station, and they must have pre-ordered Dawntrail on the platform where they will play it. Additionally, Windows®/Mac/Steam users must register the Dawntrail Pre-order Bonus Code.

FF14 Dawntrail

FF14 Dawntrail is the fifth major addition to the world of Final Fantasy XIV. It was announced in July 2023 at the first 2023 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival and is planned to be released on July 2, 2024. This expansion brings players to Tural, also known as the "New World", and marks the beginning of a new storyline following the end of the Hydaelyn–Zodiark arc.

The expansion's Japanese name, 黄金の遺産レガシー (Ōgon no Regashī?), translates to "Gilded Legacy". Its main theme revolves around the color gold and focuses on the idea of embarking on a journey of discovery.

FF14 Dawntrail Story

FF14 Dawntrail's story unfolds with the return of the Warrior of Light from the Thirteenth realm, ready for a new adventure. In the western nation of Tuliyollal, contenders are preparing to compete for the throne of the Dawnservant. Eorzea's champion joins Wuk Lamat as her ally in this ritual of succession, embarking on a journey across the vast seas to the distant continent of Tural.

As they face the upcoming challenges, the competition goes beyond mere combat, requiring them to navigate through the diverse cultures of Tuliyollal's many clans. Along the way, they uncover the mysteries surrounding the legendary golden city, marking the beginning of a fresh tale for a new chapter in FFXIV.

FF14 Gameplay

Final Fantasy XIV (FF14) is an online multiplayer game where players explore a large, persistent world together. In FF14, players create their own characters, customizing their appearance, choosing their starting class as either a fighter or a magic user. The game encourages players to select a server near their location to reduce connection delays, although language barriers are bridged with automatic translations for communication.

Gameplay in FF14 involves various activities to progress characters. Players earn experience points (EXP) by completing quests, battling monsters, and participating in events like FATEs (Full Active Time Events). As characters level up, they gain new abilities and become stronger.
