Harper is a high schooler in Australia who has been friends with Amerie since kindergarten. Harper and Amerie share everything. They are like sisters. Harper draws graffiti on one of the deserted alleys inside her school called 'The Incest Wall'. Harper has names of everyone's sexual adventures. She has names of people's sexual preferences and even names of their genitalia. Harper doesn't go to school for a week after a night out at a music festival. When she returns to school, she is avoiding Amerie and has a new haircut and wardrobe.

In the meantime, someone finds out about ‘the Incest Wall’ and reports it to the Principle, who places everyone on a ‘sexual literacy tutorial’ after the story has spread to local news channels and politicians. The Principle berates Amerie and says she knows Amerie was behind the Wall. Amerie does not mention Harper's name and tries to talk to her, but Harper assaults Amerie, and the whole school learns that Amerie is responsible for the Wall.

While Amerie is having a great time with Malakai, after a night out at a rave, Harper suddenly finds herself in a three-way threesome with him, Malakai, and Dusty (now bisexual, of course).

While Amerie is dating Dusty, Malakai begins to daydream about this threesome, especially about Dusty. Dusty distanced himself from Amerie, flirted with Amerie, and ended up in bed with Amerie.

Harper is diagnosed with Chlamydia and struggles to find the courage to tell Malakai, Dusty, and the rest of the school. During one of her SLT lectures, Harper reveals to the class that she and Malakai had a three-way threesome, and Amerie promises never to speak to Harper again. Harper's defense is that she thought Amerie and Malakai broke up, so she slept with him. Amerie is not having any of it, and she slut-shames Harper in front of the whole school. It's Harper's turn to be the social outcast, and she stands up on stage and tells the whole school that she had a consensual threeesome. This does not sit well with the Principal at Hartley High, who threatens to suspend Harper from school.

Then, one day, the class finds out that their school has been turned into a crime scene, and the Principle and the cops want to speak to Amerie.They find out that someone wrote, ‘Miss Ogah (jojo) slept with Amerie.’

Jojo is fired right away, but the students, who have grown to love the SLT lectures, lock the Principal and the other teachers out and demand that Jojo be reinstated.Amerie finds out that Dusty sabotaged her relationship with Jojo because he got tired of her taking SLT lectures and not doing anything else.

As the students hold the whole school hostage, Jojo comes back and Amerie realizes Dusty was playing both her and Harper, and that he wasn't really interested in either one of them.

Heartbreak High

Hannah Carroll Chapman is the creator and star of Heartbreak High, a comedy drama streaming TV series for Netflix. The series is a soft reboot of the 1994 original Network Ten series. Heartbreak High follows students and teachers at Hartley High, Australia, as they confront racial tensions in the country, high school relationships, and all kinds of teen drama.

The first season of Heartbreak High was released on Netflix on September 14, 2022. A month later, a second season was renewed and aired on April 11, 2024. Heartbreak High's first season was met with universal acclaim from critics and received numerous awards, including the International Emmy Award. It also received 15 nominations, including the Best Drama Series category, and won 6.
