Heroes of the Storm

Heroes of the Storm is a multiplayer online battle game by Blizzard Entertainment. It was announced in 2010 and released on June 2, 2015, for macOS and Windows. The game features characters from Blizzard's other games like Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, and Overwatch.

In the game, players form teams of five and compete against another team in matches that last about 20 minutes. The goal is to destroy the other team's main structure called the "King's Core." Each player controls one hero with unique abilities. Heroes gain experience and unlock talents to become stronger during the match.

The game is free to play but has microtransactions for buying heroes, skins, mounts, and other cosmetic items. Initially called a "hero brawler," it is now known as a "multiplayer online battle arena" (MOBA). In July 2022, Blizzard stopped major updates and put the game in maintenance mode.

Heroes of the Storm Gameplay

Heroes of the Storm is a 5-versus-5 online game played on Battle.net. Matches last about 20 minutes. The goal is to destroy the enemy's main structure, the "Core," by breaking through defensive buildings called "forts" and "keeps." Players control "heroes" with unique abilities.

There are 15 different maps, each with special objectives that help your team. Heroes gain experience points together, leveling up and getting stronger as a team. Heroes can be bought with in-game currency or real money. The game has several modes: training, versus AI, quick matches, unranked drafts, Storm League, ARAM, and custom games.

The matchmaking system uses a rating to pair players of similar skill levels. As of July 2022, major updates stopped, and the game is in maintenance mode.
