How Are Daenerys and Rhaenyra Related?
Rhaenyra is six generations back in Daenerys's family tree, making her Daenerys's sixth great-grandmother. In Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen had two brothers, Rhaegar and Viserys. Rhaegar was Jon Snow's father but died after running away with Lyanna Stark. Viserys and Daenerys were hidden and raised in Essos.
They are all children of the Mad King Aerys II Targaryen and his sister-wife Rhaella. Rhaenyra Targaryen, several generations back, is Daenerys's ancestor. Their personalities and ambitions differ, with Daenerys seeing herself as a savior and Rhaenyra being more focused on reclaiming the throne with her dragons.

Who is Daenerys?
Daenerys Targaryen is a character in the epic fantasy books A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. She's very popular in the series and is known for her strong role. Daenerys is from House Targaryen, who used to rule Westeros for a long time until they were removed from power.
She first appeared in A Game of Thrones in 1996 and later in A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords. Even though she wasn't in A Feast for Crows in 2005, she returned in A Dance with Dragons in 2011, continuing her story.
