How did Kafka Hibino Become a Kaiju No.8?
After their home and school were destroyed by a Kaiju, Kafka promised to join the Defense Force to defeat them. But while Mina passed the exam on her first try, Kafka struggled and failed five times. Mina became a commander in the Third Division, while Kafka ended up in the Clean-up Crew. When a new recruit, Leno, joined Kafka during a cleanup, they initially had a hard time getting along but later became friends.
Kafka and Ichikawa got hurt fighting a Kaiju, but Ichikawa's bravery saved Kafka. While recovering in the hospital, Ichikawa encouraged Kafka to try the Defense Force exams again, but then a small Kaiju appeared before them. Kafka was surprised when a small Kaiju charged at him and entered his mouth, transforming him into one. Leno discovered Kafka's transformation when he checked on him, hinting that the Kaiju might be smarter than they seem, especially since the Kaiju said "Found you" before attacking Kafka.
Kafka Hibino Story Line in Kaiju No.8
Kafka Hibino is the main character in the Kaiju No. 8 manga. He used to work for a company that cleans up Kaiju, but after one entered his body, he gained the power to transform into a humanoid Kaiju. He was in the Third Division before, but now he's in the First Division of the Defense Force.
He is a tall guy with spiky dark brown hair and big eyes. He used to wear a grey coverall with a red logo while working for Monster Sweeper Inc. In his Kaiju form, he has black scales with white bones showing on his head and spine. When he loses control, he gets bigger, longer horns, and his eyes turn completely cyan.
Kafka is often teased for his childish personality but is determined and caring. He always tries his best to help others and feels insecure when he can't meet their expectations. Seeing himself transform into a Kaiju horrifies him, but with support from friends, he learns to trust himself and others. He doesn't like being called "old" and reminds younger people of his seniority when teased.
