If you're alone or in a group, the safest, though slower, method is to keep the Maneater with you and calm it down repeatedly. You can put the Maneater down for a few seconds without it starting to cry. This gives you just enough time to place it near the scrap you need, grab the scrap, and then quickly pick the Maneater back up before it starts crying. This way, you can still carry scrap and work on your tasks, even if you're solo. This method works even better if you're in a group and others can help keep you safe.

If you don't want to deal with the Maneater but don't have a Double-Barrel Shotgun to kill it safely, you can trap it in certain places, whether you're playing solo or with others:

  • In the regular facility layout, you can drop it into one of the pits in the Factory Room.
  • In the mineshaft layout, drop it into one of the circular pits inside the rock tunnels.
  • On March, drop it into the large lake just outside the facility.

The Maneater might still be able to transform in these spots, but it won't be able to escape, effectively removing the threat or hassle of dealing with it.

If The Maneater Is In Adult State

When the Maneater reaches its Adult State, your options are limited. You can either leave the area as quickly as possible or, if you're well-armed and skilled with a shotgun or shovel, try to kill it.

In this state, the Maneater takes five hits with a shovel to kill. While it won't stop attacking for good, it will pause between attacks, giving you or other players a chance to strike if you time it right and avoid its deadly attack.

The Maneater can also be stunned with Stun Grenades or Homemade Flashbangs. You can use these to temporarily stop it, either to get more hits in or to escape to your ship if you're close to the doors.

A safer, though still risky, way to kill the Maneater is to defeat a Nutcracker first and take its shotgun. You can then dodge the Maneater's charge, move to the side, and shoot it with the shotgun. It usually takes two to three shots, depending on how the bullets spread.

Introduced in Lethal Company v60, the Maneater has a unique behavior that workers haven't faced before. Unlike other creatures that attack right away, the Maneater can be handled gently to keep the team safe. But there's a fine line between keeping it happy and turning it into a dangerous enemy.

Lethal Company Baby

The baby in Lethal Company is the new monster called the Maneater, also known as Cave Dwellers. These are bug-like creatures that start out small and "pathetic." They are a constant threat because they need to be calmed down regularly to prevent them from getting angry and becoming very dangerous. Maneaters start out as babies, but if they aren’t given enough attention, they will cry, grow larger, and become more vicious.

Where to Find Maneater in Lethal Company?

The Maneater can appear in all Mineshaft maps and some Factory areas. It can show up at the start of your shift and stay until the end. Since the Mineshaft is its home, you're likely to encounter a Maneater there. It usually hides in the cave system but may wander into the mines looking for someone to comfort it. Maneaters can swim in the cave pools. If you get close, they might back away or run, especially if they've been hit with a shovel by a strict employee.

Can You Kill the Maneater?

Yes, the Maneater can be killed. However, it's not a good idea to try killing it in its baby form because it won’t die with just one hit from a shovel. Trying to kill it as a baby will only cause it to transform and become more aggressive, making it harder to collect scrap. You can kill the grown Maneater with four hits from a shovel or one shot from a shotgun.

The Maneater has one attack where it prepares to lunge at you, like a spider defending itself. Use this moment to run away quickly. If it catches you, the adult Maneater will kill you instantly, so be careful not to get too close.
