How to beat Yellow Wind Sage in Black Myth Wukong?
Here is the steps to beat Yellow Wind Sage in Black Myth Wukong,
Phase One
In this phase, you'll deal with his trident attacks. The Sage swings his trident in big, fast combos. You need to dodge these swings, especially his final horizontal or vertical slam, which creates a dangerous phantom trail of tridents. To handle this phase efficiently, use Immobilize to freeze him during an attack and then hit him with a light attack combo to build up focus.
If you have the Wandering Wight spirit, use it to stun him again. It’s not recommended to use Rock Solid to block his attacks because his unpredictable swings might cause you to waste it. Focus on dodging and attacking when there’s an opening. Build up two focus points, then use a combo finishing with Resolute Strike, followed by Skyfall Strike to stun him and get more hits. Be careful, as he might move away after the Skyfall Strike, making your attack miss.
Phase Two
When the Yellow Wind Sage's health drops to about one-third, he enters the second phase. You'll notice this when he stomps his foot and spins his trident around like a tornado four times, making the wind stronger and reducing visibility. Back away during this attack because it has a large reach and deals heavy damage.
In this phase, the Sage can also turn into a sand specter. When he does this, don’t try to attack. Instead, focus on dodging. The specter will first create phantom tridents and swing his trident three times. Then, he’ll disappear and reappear to perform swinging attacks from both sides and a final high kick stomp from behind.
If he uses the high kick stomp, you can use Rock Solid to parry it and knock him down, giving you a chance to attack. If you’ve built up two focus points, ending your combo with a Skyfall Strike will knock him down again.
Watch out for his running kick, which can throw you into the air, followed by a trident attack and a grab. This combo is very damaging and hard to escape, so it’s better to keep your distance if you see him preparing this move.
The Sage will also use trident attacks that create area-of-effect explosions or shockwaves. When he sticks his trident into the ground, dodge after he swings it to avoid the explosion. For his other trident swings, Rock Solid can be effective, but only use it against his ground attacks, not when he jumps over you.
Lastly, he will summon a giant insect called Fuban that drops from the air. It’s easier to dodge this attack just before it lands on you than to try parrying it.
Phase Three
When the Yellow Wind Sage's health drops to about one-third, he starts his final and toughest phase. He summons a tornado in the arena that damages you and throws you into the air, making the fight even harder. You’ll need to dodge both the tornado and his regular attacks, which are similar to his previous moves.
If you completed the secret quest and defeated Fuban, you can use the Wind Tamer vessel during this phase. Activating it will disperse the tornado and wind, stun the Sage briefly, and give you a temporary defense boost. Take advantage of this opportunity to attack him with a combo and a heavy focus attack.
You’ll still need to deal with his usual attacks, but the improved visibility should make it easier. If you have a transformation saved up, now is a good time to use it. Transformations have their own health bars, so they can help you conserve yours and make it easier to finish the fight.
Black Myth Wukong Yellow Wind Sage Boss Guide
In Black Myth: Wukong, the final boss of Chapter Two, the Yellow Wind Sage, is very tough. He attacks quickly and can use melee, projectiles, and gap-closers, all while a sandstorm makes it hard to see.
If you're having trouble, you can do an optional side-quest to get the Wind Tamer item. This makes the fight against the Yellow Wind Sage much easier. Check out the above strategies for an easy fight.
