How to Open Encrypted Vault in The First Descendant?

Encrypted vaults are unique containers in The First Descendant that keep valuable items, but unlocking them requires a few steps. First, you'll need a Code Analyzer to open these Vaults. The type of Code Analyzer you need depends on the Vault's difficulty level. There are three main types: Code Analyzer, Precision Code Analyzer, and Ultra-Precision Code Analyzer. Each type matches a different Vault difficulty.

To get these Code Analyzers, focus on defeating elite monsters and completing specific missions. One effective way to farm Code Analyzers is by playing the Anticipated Ambush Point mission in The Sterile Land. This mission is quick and relatively easy, making it a good choice for collecting these items.

When you have the right Code Analyzer, approach the Encrypted Vault and press 'E' to start unlocking it. This action will launch a minigame where you need to time your button press to match a highlighted area on a spinning line. The Code Analyzer being used determines how hard the minigame is. Precise timing is crucial; pressing the button at the right moment will help you succeed.

The minigame is time-sensitive, and if you fail, your Code Analyzer will be used up. To try again, you'll need another one. Enzo, a character in the game, is skilled at this minigame and can help in securing resources from the Vaults. You can find rare things like Kuiper Shards or Negative Ion Particles when you open an encrypted vault. These resources are useful for character upgrades and research. Additionally, some Vaults can unlock side quests, providing extra XP and valuable items.

In Vespers, Timberfall is the prime location for finding Encrypted Vaults. This area has a cluster of Vaults that are relatively close together. Other locations in Vespers, such as Moonlight Lake and The Ruins, have fewer Vaults, so Timberfall is the best choice for efficient farming. For those exploring Echo Swamp, the Abandoned Zone is the best place to search for Vaults.

There are four Vaults in this zone, with three located near each other, which makes it a good spot for gathering resources. In Agna Desert, Vaults are spread out across the map. However, The Remnant is the most reliable area to find them. It offers a better concentration of Vaults compared to other regions in the desert. White-night Gulch has Vaults in a few areas, with the Shipment Base being the most notable location.

This area is high-level, so focus on farming here only if you are well-prepared. In Hagios, Dune Base stands out as the top spot for finding Vaults. There are also Vaults in nearby locations such as Starfall Road and Forward Base, which are worth checking out. Finally, Fortress, the last map area you unlock, is rich in Encrypted Vaults. This high-level zone has a dense concentration of Vaults, though it is also filled with strong enemies.
