How to Get Ride the Lightning in Fortnite?
To obtain the Ride the Lightning guitar in Fortnite, you can locate it at 8 different locations marked by guitar stands across the map. These stands are near popular places on the islands. You can also find the guitar on Metallica Loot Island, as ground loot, or inside chests. If you defeat other players, you might also pick it up from them, but you need to stay alive to do that.
Here are the 8 Ride the Lightning guitar stand locations:
- Inside Lavish Lair
- On top of the stage at Restored Reels
- In front of the water fountain at Reckless Railways
- Towards the back side of the Grand Glacier hotel
- At the north side of the Nitrodome arena
- At the Scrying Pool at Mount Olympus
- North of Redline Rig at the Cliffside Lodge
- At the front entrance of Brutal Beachhead
Additionally, during the middle of the match, Metallica Loot Island will appear, similar to Loot Island. You can capture it to get lots of loot, including the Ride the Lightning guitar.
Ride the Lightning
"Ride The Lightning" is a mission in Fortnite: Save the World where you defend Lars' van from enemies. The mission has two defensive waves you need to survive.
Your goal in "Ride The Lightning" is:
- Collect BluGlo: Search the area and complete side tasks to gather BluGlo.
- Deposit at Lars' Van: Take the BluGlo to Lars' van and put it in the receptacle.
- Fortify and Defend: Protect the van and equipment from enemies until the van launches.
This mission occurs in Stonewood, Plankerton, Canny Valley, and Twine Peaks. You'll need 2 BluGlo and about 6 minutes to complete the mission successfully.
Ride the Lightning Ability
Ride the Lightning differs from other Mythic items because it works almost the same as the Wings of Icarus item from Chapter 5 Season 2. According to Epic Games, Ride the Lightning works like this: "Use it to make a lightning path in the sky that your team can ride on. When you come down, you can hit the ground hard to start the end for enemies."
Players can use this item to travel around the map quickly and smash down to attack enemies with lightning. Ride the Lightning is not the only new thing coming with Metallica. Check out update 30.10's patch notes for more details. Metallica will also have a live event, and we have explained how to watch it.
Use of Ride the Lightning
The Ride the Lightning item in Fortnite has just one command, but that doesn't mean it's simple to use. When players equip this rift-powered guitar, they need to select the Ride the Lightning option. This makes the guitar shoot them high up into the air. While in the air, a meter fills up on the side.
Players can change directions until the meter fills, at which point they crash down with powerful force. Ride the Lightning damages anything it hits. It's not as easy to control as other Mythic items, like Chapter 5 Season 2's Thunderbolt of Zeus, but it deals a lot of damage and helps players move around quickly.
