When you've completed this important step, prepare to appear in a huge Dark Aether Rift guarded by an EMP mimic. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay
Modern Warfare III plays similarly to its predecessors and other Call of Duty games. The single-player campaign includes both linear and open missions called 'Open Combat Missions'. In these open missions, players can choose how they want to approach using either direct combat or stealth tactics.
Players have access to maps that show objectives and equipment locations. Enemies react to the player's actions, seek them out when spotted, and call for help during combat. In multiplayer all sixteen maps in Modern Warfare 2 are available and players can vote for maps during gameplay. Player fitness has been improved for longer battles. Missing from recent titles, the mini-map returns, featuring enemies shooting without a suppressor.
Players can also cancel sliding animations. Classic game modes like "Kill Confirmed" and "Hardpoint" return along with the new "Cutthroat" mode with three teams of three players each. The "Ground War" mode allows 32:32 battles on separate maps, and Call of Duty: WWII "War" mode is back. AI-powered moderation is implemented to monitor and report toxic behavior. 12 new 6v6 multiplayer maps have been confirmed since launch.
The game features a PvE Zombies mode developed by Treyarch in collaboration with Sledgehammer Games. It's structured like Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0's DMZ mode, where up to 24 players in separate teams battle zombies and AI-controlled human enemies to complete objectives, collect loot, and collect it for rewards.
Instead of rounds, the map is divided into difficulty zones. After 45 minutes, "Aether Storm" forces players to filter their prey. Core mechanics from previous Zombies modes return, including purchasing weapons, Perk-a-Cola drinks and the Mystery Box. Players can also collect items for future matches or craft items using schematics. Story progress is included in the story quests.
