Destiny 2 is a free-to-play online first-person shooter game by Bungie. It started as a paid game in 2017 and became free in 2019 under the New Light title. It’s available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Windows, and Stadia.
Set in a "mythic science fiction" world, the game offers both PvE and PvP modes. Players are Guardians, defending Earth's last city using the power of Light against various alien threats. The game includes story missions, strikes, raids, and a patrol mode for exploration and public events.
Destiny 2 expands regularly. The first year had two expansions, Curse of Osiris and Warmind. The major expansion, Forsaken, introduced a seasonal content model. Later expansions include Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, The Witch Queen, and Lightfall. The story's first saga concludes with The Final Shape in 2024, introducing a new episode model.
How to Unlock Prismatic Fragments in Destiny 2?
The Prismatic subclass in Destiny 2 introduces a fresh layer of build crafting with its diverse combinations. However, during the expansion campaign, your options will be limited. Players must put in additional effort to fully unlock their Guardian's new abilities.
Progressing in the Campaign
While advancing through Destiny 2's new campaign, you'll gradually gain more options for your Prismatic class. However, not all Aspects and Fragments will be readily available. To unlock these, you'll need to complete specific quests and explore different areas.
Unlocking Aspects and Fragments
As you unlock Aspects and Fragments for other subclasses, you'll find that the Prismatic ones are also tied to quests and exploration. Initially, during the Transmigration mission in the latest expansion, you'll have access to only the default Prismatic kit for your Guardian class. Additional Aspects, Fragments, and abilities will become available as you progress and open Prismatic chests in later levels.
Post-Campaign Tasks
After completing the campaign, you'll need to undertake further quests and explore the Pale Heart to unlock the remaining subclass elements. Specifically, you'll need to complete the Destined Heroes quest, which includes the Lost in Light and Found in the Dark subquests. These subquests will grant you the missing Aspects and Supers.
Finding Fragments
Obtaining Fragments is more complex. While some are given as you progress through the campaign, others require solving puzzles or finding them in the Pale Heart. Some Fragments are hidden within the campaign missions themselves. Here are a few known Fragment locations:
- Ascent (Campaign): In the broken plane on the snowy mountain. Look down the cliff to find a part of the plane containing the Fragment chest.
- Dissent (Campaign): After defeating the boss and when the area starts collapsing, head to the stairs and into the hall with many pillars. Instead of turning right to follow the objective marker, continue forward.
- Iconoclasm (Campaign): After the long climb, in the area with the sliced-up Warbeast statue, head left instead of right.
- The Divide (Post-Campaign): From the fast travel point, go back into the wall's interior. Follow the path to find a locked Prismatic Chest.
Destiny 2 Prismatic Fragment Locations
To fully harness the power of Destiny 2's new Prismatic subclass, you'll need to find and unlock all the fragments and aspects first. Here's a guide to help you locate all the Prismatic Fragments in the Pale Heart and understand the different elements that make up the Prismatic subclass.
Facet of Bravery
- Location: The Ascent story mission.
- How to Find: Climb the mountain until you find a crashed plane hull. Jump off the cliff on the right side of the plane to find a chest containing the Facet of Bravery.
Facet of Command
- Location: Impasse landing zone in the Pale Heart.
- How to Find: Turn around and cross the bridge, go through the door, and follow the path to a block of ice crystals. Use a Scorch Cannon to shatter the ice and collect elemental charges. Fill the meters on the Fallen deposit structures with these charges to get the Divided Prismatic Key, which unlocks the chest containing the Facet of Command.
Facet of Defiance
- Location: Impasse landing zone in the Pale Heart, near the Transgression area.
- How to Find: Head to the large rectangular building, go through the door, and follow the path to a cave. Shoot the Darkness node to get the Shielded from Darkness buff, then defeat enemies to get the Transgressive Prismatic Key, which unlocks the chest containing the Facet of Defiance.
Facet of Devotion
- Location: Dissent story mission.
- How to Find: After defeating the boss, head towards the navigation marker but turn left instead of right to find a chest with the Facet of Devotion behind a pillar.
Facet of Grace
- Location: Lost City in the Pale Heart.
- How to Find: Run past the Cabal Centurions and follow the path to a large green open space. Defeat three Omens and a Tormentor to get the Elevated Prismatic Key, which unlocks the chest containing the Facet of Grace.
Facet of Justice
- Location: The Landing in the Pale Heart.
- How to Find: Follow the path to a large room with blue crystals, memorize the Hive symbols, and use a Solar crystal to dunk in the plates. Defeat enemies and minibosses to get the Refracting Prismatic Key, which unlocks the chest containing the Facet of Justice.
Facet of Mending
- Location: Lost City in the Pale Heart.
- How to Find: Collect four lost Ghosts and defeat enemies to get the Overgrown Prismatic Key, which unlocks the chest containing the Facet of Mending.
Facet of Sacrifice
- Location: Iconoclasm campaign mission.
- How to Find: Find a hidden corridor near the sliced wardog and follow it to a Prismatic chest containing the Facet of Sacrifice.
Facet of Solitude
- Location: Impasse in the Pale Heart.
- How to Find: Clear corrupted chests to collect Memory Vestige: Darkness items. Use the item to find a chest in the Impasse area containing the Facet of Solitude.
Facet of Honor
- Location: The Divide in the Pale Heart.
- How to Find: Collect Memory Vestige: Darkness items and use them to find a chest in The Divide containing the Facet of Honor.
Facet of Dominance, Awakening, and Generosity
- Location: Post-campaign missions.
- How to Find: Complete the final boss fight and collect Memory Vestige: Light items. Follow the cyst quests to find the corresponding chests containing these facets.

| Facet of Command | Freezing or suppressing a target reloads your equipped weapons and increases weapon stability, aim assist, and airborne effectiveness. Defeating frozen or suppressed targets creates a Stasis Shard or Void Breach. |
