Good Bones Plot
In 2007, Karen E. Laine, a defense attorney, and her daughter, Mina Starsiak Hawk, a part-time waitress, began flipping houses in their free time in Indianapolis. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to start a home renovation business called Two Chicks and a Hammer, Inc. in 2008.
Mina, who is also a real estate agent, works alongside her mom to renovate homes. Karen retired from the business in 2019 but still appears on the show and helps with renovations. Their style includes creating green spaces and using local artists' work to add unique touches to the homes.
The show also features other family members like Mina’s half-brother Tad, who leads the demolition crew, and his assistant, Austin “Bobkat” Aynes. They work together to transform old, run-down houses into beautiful, livable spaces in neighborhoods like Fountain Square, Bates–Hendricks, and Old Southside.
