He did something important by finding a young girl named Ahsoka Tano who had the ability to use the Force on the planet Shili. He took her to the Jedi Temple, where she learned to become a Jedi with the guidance of Anakin Skywalker. Later, Plo Koon got chosen for the Jedi High Council and helped Jedi Knight Bultar Swan as a mentor.

During the Clone Wars, Plo Koon did many missions to help the Galactic Republic. He died during Order 66 when Clone Pilot Jag tragically shot him down. Even though Plo Koon isn't as well-known as Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi, his courage and commitment had a big impact on the Jedi Order and the Star Wars story, especially in shows like The Clone Wars.

Is Plo Koon in The Acolyte?

Plo Koon is not in The Acolyte. Instead of the expected, the new Star Wars TV show introduces a Kel Dor Jedi named Ithia Paan. Kel Dor are of the same species as Plo Koon, a well-liked Jedi from Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Plo Koon is popular with fans because he found and looked after Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars.

Some fans wanted the Kel Dor Jedi in The Acolyte to be Plo Koon because the show takes place a hundred years before The Phantom Menace, and Kel Dor can live a long time. Star Wars confirmed on social media that the Kel Dor Jedi is named Ithia Paan and is not related to Plo Koon. Fans may be disappointed not to see Plo Koon in the show, but it also means there will be lots of new surprises and characters to find in The Acolyte.

How Old is Plo Koon?

We don't know exactly how old Plo Koon was when he passed away in 19 BBY (before the Battle of Yavin). The Star Wars stories haven't told us that yet. Additionally, we are unsure about how long Kel Dor, the species Plo Koon is part of, typically lives. The Ultimate Alien Anthology book, published in 2003 for a Star Wars game, mentioned that Kel Dor can live over 70 years, but it is no longer considered official.

Kel Dor are from the planet Dorin and have to wear a special mask to breathe on other planets since the air can be harmful to them. They also put on goggles to keep their eyes from getting dry. Because Plo Koon was on the Jedi High Council, it is likely that he was considered middle-aged for a Kel Dor.
