Initially serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump under its own title, Steel Ball Run later became recognized as part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure when it moved to Ultra Jump. Steel Ball Run Plot

In 1890, Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic jockey, joins the Steel Ball Run, a cross-country horse race with a $50 million prize. He teams up with Gyro Zeppeli, learning Gyro's mysterious Spin ability, which temporarily restores Johnny's mobility. As they race, they face assassins and rivals while discovering the race is a cover for collecting parts of an ancient corpse with immense power.

United States President Funny Valentine manipulates events to gather these parts for his own gain. Johnny and Gyro confront other racers and develop their abilities, but Valentine gains the upper hand. With Gyro's death, Johnny masters his Stand's power and defeats Valentine. The story concludes with unexpected outcomes for the race's winners and the setup for future events in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.
