Yes, the Lord of the Rings has an extended edition in theatres. Warner Bros. and Fathom Events have announced that all three movies: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King will be screened again, for the first time Peter Jackson's remastered versions of the movie will be shown in theaters.
These extended editions were remastered in 4K in 2020, and while fans have been able to enjoy them at home, this marks a special opportunity to experience them on the big screen once more.
