Persona 3 Reload
Persona 3 Reload is a 2024 video game made by Atlus. It's a redo of Persona 3 from 2006, which is part of the Persona series in the Megami Tensei franchise. The game follows a high school student who moves back to his hometown ten years after his parents died in a car crash. He discovers he can summon a Persona, which is a manifestation of his inner self. He joins a group called the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.) with other Persona users to fight Shadows and solve the mystery of the Dark Hour.
Fans had been asking for a Persona 3 remake after the success of Persona 5 in 2016, and Atlus announced Reload in June 2023. The game faithfully retells the story of Persona 3 but with updated graphics and features similar to later games in the series.
The art direction was overseen by Shigenori Soejima, with new character designs by Azusa Shimada and Tomohiro Kumagai. The music, mostly by Atsushi Kitajoh with some by Shoji Meguro, features vocals by Azumi Takahashi and Lotus Juice.
Persona 3 Reload came out on February 2, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Critics liked it, and it sold 1 million copies in its first week, making it Atlus' fastest-selling game.
Judgment Sword Persona 3 Reload
In Persona 3 Reload, the Judgment Sword is the first enemy encountered behind the Monad Doors in Tziah. It's not very dangerous unless you're weak to Electric attacks. Monad Doors are special doors that hold valuable items, but to access them, you must defeat tough enemies like the Judgment Sword. These doors are found in Tziah, which is the fourth block of Tartarus, the game's main dungeon.
The Judgment Sword is one of the random bosses that appear behind Monad Doors in the first half of Tziah. Similar to other enemies like the Emperor Beetle or Crazy Twins, there are different versions of the Judgment Sword that you'll encounter as you progress. Each version has different weaknesses, so you'll need to adapt your strategy accordingly.
The Monad Door version of the Judgment Sword is notably tougher than its regular counterparts, making it a formidable opponent. Defeating it can be challenging but rewarding, as it allows you to access the valuable items behind the door.
However, the Judgment Sword can pose a significant threat, especially if you're unprepared or if your party is not well-equipped. It's essential to strategize and use your Persona's abilities wisely to overcome this tough enemy and secure the rewards that lie beyond the door.
Overall, Monad Doors and the enemies guarding them add an additional layer of challenge and excitement to Persona 3 Reload. They encourage players to engage in strategic battles and explore Tartarus thoroughly to uncover valuable treasures.
The Judgment Sword, in particular, serves as a formidable adversary, requiring players to hone their skills and devise effective tactics to emerge victorious.
Judgment Sword Weakness
In Persona 3 Reload, the Judgment Sword is weak against Wind attacks. This means using Wind-based skills will deal extra damage to it. However, the enemy is immune to Pierce attacks and absorbs Shock attacks, so using these types of skills won't work.
If you have Aigis in your party, it's best for her to use Strike attacks and buffs instead of Pierce or Shock attacks. Also, make sure your equipped Persona can resist Shock attacks since the Judgment Sword uses them often. Be prepared for some physical attacks from the enemy as well.
How to Defeat Judgment Sword?
In Persona 3 Reload, the Judgment Sword can be a tough opponent because it uses a skill called Mazionga that can hit most of your party members. If you have Aigis and Yukari in your team, the Judgment Sword will likely use this skill a lot. This can be dangerous because Yukari is important in this fight since the Judgment Sword is weak to Wind attacks, but it can also exploit her weakness.
Akihiko, on the other hand, is well-equipped for this battle. He is immune to Shock attacks, which the Judgment Sword uses, and the enemy has no defense against his Strike attacks. Akihiko also has healing abilities that can help if Yukari is in trouble.
Mitsuru, Junpei, Koromaru, and Ken are okay for this fight, as they don't have any particular advantage or disadvantage. Ken's ability to create barriers can protect Yukari, even though it also heals the enemy.
The Judgment Sword has a lot of health, so you'll need to use All-Out Attacks and Theurgies to chip away at it. However, one of your main ways to set up these attacks is by exploiting the enemy's weakness, which in this case is Wind attacks, so you'll need to plan your actions carefully.
Persona 3 Reload Gameplay
Persona 3 Reload keeps its unique blend of role-playing and social simulation gameplay but with significant updates. It's been visually and mechanically revamped to incorporate improvements from later Persona games, especially Persona 5.
The game now offers clearer objectives for story-related tasks, similar to Persona 5's heads-up display. The map display is also enhanced, showing more details and marking important locations for story progression, similar to Persona 5.
New activities have been added to the game, such as interacting with dorm residents, cooking, gardening, watching films, and reading books. These activities help improve the protagonist's Social Stats, which are crucial for progressing in the game's social interactions.
While attending school, the in-class questions have been completely redone. Exploration in both the city and dungeons is now done from a third-person perspective, with improved camera control for better views. Fast travel has been expanded, allowing players to travel directly to specific locations from the map.
The structure of Tartarus remains the same, but with added environmental variety and visual effects. The fatigue mechanic has been removed, so the party no longer tires during exploration. Battle mechanics have been overhauled, taking inspiration from Persona 5 with new commands and abilities. Players can now take direct control over party members during battle, similar to Persona 3 Portable.
Overall, Persona 3 Reload enhances the original game with modern improvements while retaining its core gameplay elements and story.
