In the ending of Laura Hasn't Slept, after Laura’s realization that she might still be in a dream, her supposed therapist reveals his true, terrifying nature. As the room grows darker, and strange sounds fill the air, Laura becomes more desperate to escape. She tries to flee, but finds herself trapped by a wall blocking her exit. The therapist—now clearly not who he seemed—begins to change, his bones cracking as he stands up and tells Laura that he has something to show her.

He starts pulling at his face, which terrifies Laura even more. She refuses to look at him, covering her eyes and telling herself that none of it is real. However, the eerie atmosphere intensifies, and when Laura finally uncovers her eyes, the man appears before her, showing her his "true face." In a moment of sheer horror, Laura begins to pull at her own face, mirroring the man’s actions, and her eyes start to bleed as she screams in agony.

The movie stars Caitlin Stasey and Lew Temple. In the film, Laura is haunted by terrifying nightmares, and she seeks help from a therapist. However, things take a disturbing turn when her reality starts blending with the nightmare, and she becomes trapped in her own fear.

The short film was very successful and led to the creation of Parker Finn's full-length horror movie Smile (2022), where Caitlin Stasey briefly returned to play her role again. After the success of Smile, the story expanded into a horror franchise.

Laura Hasn't Slept follows a young woman named Laura, who is haunted by a recurring nightmare involving a mysterious man with a sinister smile.
