NetEase Games has a special team in Seattle that focuses on designing games and levels. They're working together with their team in Guangzhou, China, on Marvel Rivals. The game is being made by NetEase Games, who made two other Marvel games before: Marvel Super War in 2019 and Marvel Duel in 2020. Jay Ong from Marvel Games said Rivals is one of their biggest game projects yet.

The game doesn't have a release date yet, but it's starting a closed alpha test on May 10, 2024. It will be free to play when it comes out. While it's planned for Windows and macOS on Steam and Epic Games, NetEase Games is also looking into releasing it on other platforms

Marvel Rivals Plot

The story begins with Doctor Doom meeting his heroic counterpart from the year 2099, and their meeting turns hostile. This leads to something big happening called the 'Timestream Entanglement,' where different universes come together. This merging creates brand new worlds. Because of this, heroes and villains from different universes start battling each other. Their main aim is to beat both versions of Doctor Doom before one of them wins control over the new worlds.
