Modest Mouse is a rock band from Issaquah, Washington, started in 1993 and now based in Portland, Oregon. The original members were Isaac Brock, Jeremiah Green, and Eric Judy. They became famous for albums like The Lonesome Crowded West 1997 and The Moon & Antarctica 2000. Their big hit was Good News for People Who Love Bad News 2004, which included popular songs like Float On.

The band’s lineup changed a lot over time. Isaac Brock is the only original member left after drummer Jeremiah Green passed away in 2022. Eric Judy left in 2012. Johnny Marr, Joe Plummer, and Tom Peloso joined in 2006, and Jim Fairchild joined in 2009. They released their sixth album, Strangers to Ourselves, in 2015, and their seventh, The Golden Casket, in 2021.
