Overwatch 2 Reveals New Support Hero Juno

Blizzard Entertainment introduced a new Support hero, Juno for Overwatch 2, coming with Season 12 on August 20. Juno was first shown at BlizzCon last year, where she was called "Space Ranger." Her abilities include the Mediblaster, which heals teammates and damages enemies, and Pulsar Torpedoes, which lock onto targets.

Juno can use Glide Boost to move faster and Hyper Ring to help her allies move more quickly. Her Martian Overboots let her double jump and hover, and her ultimate ability, Orbital Ray, simultaneously heals allies and damages enemies.

Players can try out Juno from July 19 to July 21 before she officially joins the game in August. Season 12 is set to be exciting with Juno’s arrival, and it might bring back players who missed Season 11. Additional details about Season 12 content will be revealed later.

Juno’s introduction expands Overwatch 2’s roster, which now includes 12 tanks, 18 attackers, and 10 support heroes. Her unique abilities aim to enhance the support role, making her a valuable addition to both seasoned and new players.

Overwatch 2 Juno Abilities

Juno, the newest support hero in Overwatch 2, brings a unique set of abilities focused on enhancing mobility. Here's a breakdown of her abilities:

  1. Hyper Ring: Juno deploys a ring that grants increased movement speed to allies who pass through it. This ability functions similarly to Lucio’s speed boost, helping teammates traverse the battlefield more quickly.
  2. Double Jump: Juno has the ability to perform a double jump, giving her enhanced vertical mobility. This helps her navigate the environment and evade enemies more effectively.
  3. Glide: In addition to double jumping, Juno can glide through the air. This ability complements her galactic theme and allows her to maintain altitude and maneuver around obstacles.

These abilities are designed to enhance Juno's mobility and provide tactical advantages to her team, fitting her Space Ranger persona.

How to Play New Support Hero Juno?

Juno, the new support hero in Overwatch 2, can be played early during a special free weekend. Here’s how to get started:

  • Free Weekend: Juno will be available from Friday, July 19, to Sunday, July 22. Just log in to Overwatch 2 during these days to play her for free.
  • No Extra Cost: You don’t need to buy a battle pass to use Juno during the free weekend or when she officially launches on August 20, 2024.
  • Playing Juno: After logging in, you can choose Juno in your matches. Try out her abilities, like her Hyper Ring that boosts movement speed, and see how she performs compared to other heroes. She can also double jump and glide.
  • Give Feedback: Since this is a test period, let the developers know if you find any issues or have suggestions. This helps make sure Juno is balanced and ready for her official release.

Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is a first-person shooter game released in 2023 by Blizzard Entertainment, and it builds on the 2016 game Overwatch. This game focuses on player-versus-player (PvP) action and has removed plans for cooperative modes to better concentrate on PvP. Players choose from 40 heroes divided into three classes: damage, support, and tank. Team sizes have been reduced from six to five to make matches faster and simpler. A new game mode called "Push" lets teams compete to control a robot that moves a payload toward the enemy's side. The game is free to play and uses a battle pass system for new content, replacing loot boxes.

Players can buy cosmetics directly and participate in special events and collaborations with other franchises. Overwatch 2 supports cross-progression, so cosmetic items and progress are shared across PC and console versions, though competitive skill ratings remain separate for each platform. The game is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
