Star Wars Outlaws Early Access

In the new Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws, players can explore the criminal underworld of the galaxy. If you pre-order the Gold or Digital Ultimate Edition, you'll get early access to the game starting August 27, three days before the official release. For those with a Ubisoft Plus subscription, you can play the Ultimate Edition on PC at no extra cost. This early access allows fans to dive into the game and experience its features before anyone else.

In April 2024, two exclusive editions of Star Wars Outlaws were introduced.

Edition Details

Both editions come with a season pass that provides a bonus mission, new cosmetics, and upcoming story expansions. The first edition is available for $110, while the second edition, which includes extra cosmetics, is priced at $130.

Early Access and Bonuses

Pre-ordering either edition gives players access to the game a few days before the official launch. Both editions come with vehicle-themed cosmetics. Preorders for Star Wars Outlaws are now available on all platforms, each with unique bonuses.

Star Wars Outlaws Release Date

Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch on August 30. It will be released just a day after Monster Jam Showdown, which comes out on August 29. The game will also compete with Stalker: Heart of Chornobyl, releasing on September 5. The game reached gold status on July 3, meaning its main development is complete, though the team will still work on final improvements and optimizations.

Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay

In Star Wars Outlaws, you play as Kay Vess, a scoundrel exploring open worlds on planets and in space. The game is viewed from behind Kay as she uses melee attacks, a blaster with different firing modes, and environmental objects to fight enemies. Kay can also slow time with her Adrenaline ability and use stealth to sneak past or take down foes.

You travel on a speeder bike across planets and use a starship called the Trailblazer to move between planets and engage in space battles. The game allows you to explore, trade, and complete missions at space stations. You earn credits to buy upgrades and customize your gear.

The game features four factions, each affecting Kay’s reputation based on your actions. A higher reputation gives better access and discounts, while a lower reputation can lead to more challenges. Kay is also pursued by Imperial forces if she commits crimes, and you can evade them by hiding or fighting back. Choices in dialogue impact how missions play out.

Star Wars Outlaws Review

Star Wars Outlaws showed both promise and areas needing improvement. The initial demo felt rushed, with players quickly moving through linear missions rather than exploring the open world. However, a longer preview event revealed more about the game’s depth, including side jobs, faction interactions, and exploration.

The game lets players control Kay Vess, engaging in stealth and combat with a focus on exploration. While the combat can feel slow and the AI a bit predictable, the game’s stealth mechanics and interactive elements offer a different experience compared to other Star Wars titles. The open-world aspect, including seamless transitions between space and planets, adds to the immersion.

Despite some bugs and issues with combat, the game’s emphasis on quests and character interactions provides a fresh take on the Star Wars universe. Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on August 30 on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store.
