Sugar's Mind-Bending Season 1 Finale Explained
In the season 1 finale of Sugar, titled "Farewell," John Sugar, played by Colin Farrell, saves Olivia Siegel and brings her back to her family. But he soon realizes there is more to the case. While listening to a CD made by the kidnapper, Ryan Pavitch, Sugar finds new clues. At the same time, a character named Miller is mysteriously killed in the desert by a policewoman.
Sugar then goes to Ruby’s house. Ruby and her family, who are aliens, are getting ready to leave Earth because their secret is in danger. Sugar finds out that many people were involved in Olivia’s kidnapping. These include Ryan Pavitch, Henry, Byron Stallings, and Olivia’s half-brother, David Siegel. David had complained about Olivia, which led to the kidnapping.
Henry, one of the aliens, was helping Pavitch with his crimes to study human behavior. Sugar decides to stay on Earth to stop Henry from hurting more people. The finale ends with Sugar watching Ruby and the other aliens leave Earth through a wormhole. This sets up a possible second season.
