The game continues the story from its predecessor, focusing on the battle between Jin Kazama and his father Kazuya Mishima. It also explores the Mishima Clan's history and the return of Heihachi Mishima.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Tekken 8 features new mechanics like the "Heat" system and "Tornado" hits, along with a revamped online mode called Arcade Quest. The game was well-received, praised for its aggressive gameplay and improvements over previous installments.

Tekken 8 Plot

In Tekken 8, Jin Kazama, with his allies Lars and Lee, tries to defeat his father, Kazuya Mishima, after the death of Heihachi Mishima. They fail, and Kazuya uses the chaos to announce a new King of Iron Fist Tournament, intending to lure powerful opponents and harness dark energies to resurrect the demon Azazel.

During the tournament, Jin fights through various competitors, including Reina, who has her own hidden motives. Kazuya ultimately resurrects Azazel, absorbs it, and becomes a True Devil. Jin, who is struggling with his own devil powers, travels to his birthplace in Yakushima to regain control. There, he faces Kazuya and a fierce battle ensues. Jin defeats Kazuya, purges the Devil Genes from both of them, and departs with Xiaoyu, while a seemingly revived Jun Mishima approaches an unconscious Kazuya.

In the credits, the world recovers from G Corporation's rule, with various characters working to restore the city and continue their journeys. In a mid-credit scene, Reina, now with her own Devil form, vows to avenge her father, Heihachi.

Tekken 8 Gameplay

Tekken 8 maintains the classic fighting game style but adds new features to make the gameplay more aggressive. The new "Heat" system rewards players for attacking by giving them special moves and chip damage against opponents. Fighters in the Heat state can also dash cancel their moves. Unlike previous games, health regeneration now depends on attacking rather than defending.

The game introduces several technical updates, including a new "Heat Smash" move, replacing the old "Rage Drive." The "Screw" mechanism is replaced by a "Tornado" extender for ground-bound states. Stages feature new hazards and destructible elements, adding to the strategic depth.

Tekken 8 aims for a more cinematic experience with all-new character models and voice acting. It uses Unreal Engine 5 and includes crossplay for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. The online mode, "Arcade Quest," allows avatar customization and features various online and tournament battles.

The game also includes a special Tekken Force Mode in chapter 10, with exclusive Heat and Rage features, and disables Rage Arts in certain modes.
