The Atypical Family Episode 4 Recap
In the fourth episode of "The Atypical Family," the Bok family faces some intense situations. Man-heum has a scary picture in his mind of Da-hae being taken to the hospital from a sauna, so she tells her husband about her worries. The next day, Da-hae feels anxious as she prepares breakfast for the family. Man-heum advises Da-hae to avoid saunas because of her dream.
Although Da-hae is afraid, she still goes to the sauna, and Gwi-ju follows her secretly. At the sauna, Da-hae begs the owner, who she calls "mom," to leave her family alone. However, the owner wants to focus on the Bok family, and this makes Da-hae's history as a daughter of someone who owes money known.
Gwi-ju locates Da-hae, but a fire alarm causes her trauma, resulting in a frightening situation. At the hospital, the owner tells Gwi-ju about Da-hae's past in a way that makes Gwi-ju feel manipulated. Back at home, Man-heum confronts Gwi-ju for telling Da-hae the truth. Gwi-ju's difficulties after his wife's death and doubts about her being unfaithful are shown through flashbacks. They discuss whether they should use their abilities to help others.
Da-hae plans how to handle the owner's requests while the Bok family copes with their abilities. I-na is influenced by her friends, and Dong-hee is admired by others. Afterward, Da-hae tells a made-up story to convince Gwi-ju to marry her, which results in a surprising kiss.
The Atypical Family Ending Explained
In the end, Da-Hae hears Mrs. Bok say that people who find out about their powers usually choose to leave or use them for their own benefit. At the same time, Gwi-Ju travels back in time and unintentionally goes into the women's changing room at the sauna following Da-Hae. Ashamed, he comes back to the present and stands under the shower to calm down.
That's why he was wet and dressed when he saved Da-Hae from falling in episode 3. When he returns, Da-Hae gives him a marriage certificate from the future. Gwi-Ju thinks everything is weird, and Da-Hae says that there will be even more surprises in the future.
She informs him about a fire at her old school where a man saved her, maybe it was Gwi-Ju. We see Da-Hae talking to her mother who is a loan shark, and it's weird that she uses the same fire story to deceive all the men she lures. Gwi-Ju wants to prove his dad's theory by kissing Da-Hae before they get married to see if they fall in love. P.S. When Dong-Hee expressed her dislike for women being enemies, it felt like a pivotal moment in the show.
