How to Play the National Lottery Thunderball?

Playing Thunderball is easy. Pay £1 per line and choose five numbers between 1 and 39, plus one Thunderball number between 1 and 14. You can win prizes starting at £3 for matching just the Thunderball, and up to £500,000 for matching all five main numbers and the Thunderball.

Step 1: Pick five numbers from 1 to 39 and one Thunderball number from 1 to 14. You can choose your own numbers, use a Lucky Dip, or let a number generator pick them for you.

Step 2: Decide how many lines you want to play. You can play up to seven lines on each slip and buy up to 10 slips at once.

Step 3: Buy your ticket before the draw deadline.

Step 4: Wait for the results! You can watch the draw online, check the results page, or use our free Results App to get notified when the numbers are announced.

Thunderball draws are held every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at around 8pm. Initially, the game featured just one weekly draw on Saturdays. However, over time, additional draws were introduced, with the Tuesday draw being the most recent addition, launched in early 2018 as part of a series of changes to the National Lottery.
