About V Rising

V Rising is a 2024 action role-playing survival game made by Stunlock Studios and published by Level Infinite. It first came out in early access for Windows in May 2022 and was officially released two years later. A PlayStation 5 version is also being developed. Within a week of its early access release, the game sold over one million copies.

V Rising, developed by Stunlock Studios using the Unity engine, initially required an internet connection but was later updated for offline play. The first major update, Secrets of Gloomrot, was released on May 17, 2023, adding multi-level castles and new game mechanics. The full version 1.0, set for Q2 2024, will include a new boss, biome, and cosmetic items. A PlayStation 5 version with Castlevania-themed content is also planned for 2024.

V Rising Gameplay

In V Rising, players control a newly awakened vampire in an open world with five biomes. They gather materials, upgrade equipment, and build a castle. Players must defeat bosses to access advanced materials and equipment. To survive, they need to drink blood from NPCs, avoid sunlight, and manage other vampire-specific hazards like garlic.

Players can build and customize multi-level castles in claimable areas using a Castle Heart, which requires Blood Essence to stay active. The game features a day-and-night cycle, with sunlight causing damage and garlic applying a harmful status effect.

V Rising offers both PvE and PvP servers. PvP has three modes: standard, full loot (where equipment and castles can be taken or destroyed), and duo (factions of up to two members).
