Andrew had been facing charges like assault, having a weapon, damaging things, trespassing, and threatening behavior. He was put in jail on April 2 and was supposed to have a court video call on Thursday, a week after he died. The manager of Mt Eden prison, Dion Paki, said Andrew died on the morning of June 27, 2024. Even though the staff and emergency workers tried hard to save him, they couldn't.
