What Happened To Andrew Jury?
Andrew Jury, who appeared on Married At First Sight (MAFS) NZ, passed away while he was in Mt Eden prison. He was 33 years old. Andrew had been facing charges like assault, having a weapon, damaging things, trespassing, and threatening behavior. He was put in jail on April 2 and was supposed to have a court video call on Thursday, a week after he died. The manager of Mt Eden prison, Dion Paki, said Andrew died on the morning of June 27, 2024. Even though the staff and emergency workers tried hard to save him, they couldn't.

Andrew Jury passed away while he was in Mt Eden prison. The authorities are investigating what caused his death, but they do not suspect anything unusual. His case is being looked into by the Coroner's office and an independent group that checks how prisons are run.
Andrew's father, Roy Jury, told the NZ Herald that Andrew was having a tough time in jail and had stopped talking to his family and friends, which worried them a lot. Andrew worked as a builder and appeared on the first season of MAFS NZ. He got married on the show to Vicky Gleeson-Stokes, but their marriage did not last.
Haydn Daniel, a friend of Andrew's from the show, said he spoke to Andrew every few months. Andrew knew he had problems and was trying to get help. Haydn believes Andrew's death shows that people who are on TV shows need more support after the shows are over. He hopes this will lead to better treatment for people who have been on reality TV.
