Travis Freeman, a high school junior from Corbin, Kentucky, was a promising football player. His life took a dramatic turn when he suddenly got severe headaches and was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. After emergency surgery to save his life, Travis lost his sight.

Dealing with blindness was tough for Travis. He fell into depression and had to give up football. His girlfriend left him, and he faced the tough choice of going to a special school for the blind far from home.

With support from his parents, best friend Jerry, another friend named Ashley, and his mobility coach, Travis began to adapt to his new life. He started his senior year at Corbin High School and continued to be involved with football practice, even though he couldn't play.

Eventually, Coach Farris encouraged him to rejoin the team. Travis agreed and became a center for the football team. His return helped the team improve and eventually advance to the state playoffs.
