The Rapper OG Maco was recently hospitalized after being injured from a gunshot. Many suspect that it could be a suicide attempt. In 2019 OG Maco revealed that he had been suffering from a skin disease called "necrotizing fasciitis".
Police reportedly arrived at a Los Angeles home around 10 a.m. in response to a 911 call from a neighbor who heard a gunshot inside the residence.
OG Maco's manager Poppa Percccc confirmed that the rapper is still alive and is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Care.
The rapper gained widespread recognition with his 2014 debut single "U Guessed It," which was later remixed by 2 Chainz and charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
Who is OG Maco?
Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr., known by his stage name OG Maco, is an American rapper born on April 23, 1992, in College Park, Georgia. He rose to prominence with his debut single "U Guessed It" in 2014, which became a viral hit and was later remixed featuring rapper 2 Chainz. The track gained significant attention, even charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2014, OG Maco signed with Quality Control Music, a record label that would later become an imprint of Motown and Capitol Records in 2015. That same year, he was featured in XXL magazine's prestigious Freshman Class, a list recognizing up-and-coming hip-hop artists.
OG Maco is also the founder of the hip-hop collective OGG (Oowa Gang Gang), through which he discovered OG Parker, an unknown producer at the time who later gained recognition in the industry. In 2016, OG Maco released the extended play For Scott…, a tribute to his musical influence, rapper Kid Cudi (born Scott Mescudi).
His work blends energetic, raw rap with introspective themes, making him a notable figure in the contemporary rap scene.
