When is College Football 25 Coming Out?
College Football 25 is set to release on July 19, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Fans are excited about this and Madden 25's release, and many wonder how these two games will work together. Unfortunately, you won't be able to directly import draft classes from College Football 25 into Madden 25.
EA Sports hasn't figured out how to do that yet. However, you can still manually create draft classes using the college rosters, which is easier than making them from scratch. On a brighter note, you can transfer your Road to Glory player from College Football 25 into Madden 25.
This mode lets you follow a college player's career and continue it in the NFL. While it's not a perfect system, it still allows players to enjoy a connected experience between the two games.
EA Sports College Football 25
EA Sports College Football 25 is an upcoming video game focused on college football. It was developed by EA Orlando and published by EA Sports. This game is part of the EA Sports College Football series and marks the first new release in the series in eleven years, with the last game being NCAA Football 14, which came out in 2013.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of this popular series. The long break was due to legal issues about using college athletes' names and images without paying them. However, new rules introduced in 2021 now allow players to be compensated for their names and likenesses, making this game possible again.
College Football 25 will feature real players who have opted into the game and will receive payment for their participation. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with an official release date of July 19, 2024, and early access for pre-orders starting on July 16, 2024.
EA Sports College Football 25 Development
After releasing NCAA Football 14 in 2013, Electronic Arts (EA) stopped making college football video games due to a lawsuit. Former college players sued EA for using their names, images, and likenesses (NIL) without permission or payment.
The NCAA, which licensed its brand to EA, had always resisted paying athletes. As part of the lawsuit settlement, EA agreed to stop producing the games. In 2021, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in NCAA v. Alston that the NCAA's refusal to compensate athletes was illegal.
Following this, the NCAA created new rules allowing athletes to be paid for their likenesses. In 2023, EA announced that player likenesses would be included in their next college football game.
By early 2024, EA had secured NIL agreements from over 10,000 athletes, who would receive $600 and a copy of the game. Players who opted out would be replaced with generic characters. The game, developed with the Frostbite engine, will also feature the Heisman Trophy but not most National College Football Awards.
College Football 25 Early Release Date
EA Sports College Football 25 will officially release on July 19, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, players who pre-order the game can start playing it early on July 16, 2024. This game is the first new college football video game in over a decade, following NCAA Football 14 from 2013.
The long delay was due to legal issues over using college athletes' names and images without payment. New rules in 2021 allowed athletes to be paid, which led to the series returning.
This year, College Football 25 will include real player names, and those who opted in will receive payment. Fans are looking forward to upcoming reveals about gameplay, the College Ultimate Team, and the Road to Glory mode, which will build excitement for the game's release.
