Galactus Fantastic Four
Galactus is a powerful character in Marvel Comics, known for his immense size and hunger for planets. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #48 in 1966.
Galactus was designed to break away from the typical villain archetype. In his initial appearance, he was portrayed as a god-like being who consumed planets to sustain himself, without concern for the lives on those worlds.
Originally, Galactus was depicted as a Taa-an named Galan, who gained cosmic abilities after passing near a star. However, writer Mark Gruenwald expanded on his origins, presenting Taa and Galan as existing before the Big Bang that created the Marvel Universe.
Throughout the years, writers like John Byrne, Jim Starlin, and Louise Simonson have explored Galactus's role in the Marvel Universe. But this time, Galactus is set to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film "The Fantastic Four" in 2025, where he will be portrayed by Ralph Ineson.
Fantastic Four MCU
The Fantastic Four, a Marvel Comics superhero team, has been the subject of four live-action movies. The first film, a low-budget production, was made in 1992 by New Horizon Studios.
The sequel, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," was released in 2007. Despite mixed reviews, the films earned a total of $635 million worldwide.
However, due to disappointment with the box-office returns of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," plans for a third film and a Silver Surfer spin-off were canceled.
The Fantastic Four, a popular animated series, was rebooted in 2015 with a film called "Fantastic Four," but faced negative reviews and financial failure.
In 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to the series after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox. A new film featuring the team is in development as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to release in July 2025.
The films produced by 20th Century Fox were rebranded as "Marvel Legacy" films on Disney+ and later renamed "Fantastic Adventures" in July 2023, distinguishing them from Marvel Studios' MCU titles.
