Met Gala 2024

Met Gala 2024 Theme
The 2024 Met Gala is celebrating the Costume Institute's new exhibition, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," with the official dress code being "The Garden of Time." The exhibit is showcasing around 250 rare items from the Costume Institute's permanent collection. It spans over 400 years of fashion history and includes designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more. Some garments, like a Charles Frederick Worth ball gown from 1877, are too fragile to wear again and are being displayed through video animation, light projection, AI, CGI, and other sensory stimulation methods.
Met Gala 2024 Host
Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth hosted the 2024 Met Gala. They took over from last year's hosts: Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Vogue's Anna Wintour. Anna Wintour has been in charge of the Met Gala since 1995, making it the popular fashion event it is today.
Actor Gwendoline Christie, producer and actor La La Anthony, and model Ashley Graham are co-hosting. Emma Chamberlain is also at the event as Vogue's special correspondent. She is interviewing some of the biggest stars at the gala.
