Anne Diamond was born on September 8, 1954, in Birmingham, Warwickshire. Her family had Irish roots, but her dad grew up with his mom in Greenock, Scotland, as his dad moved to Canada. Anne grew up in Malvern, Worcestershire, and she went to Worcester Grammar School for Girls.
When Anne was younger, she worked at a Butlins holiday camp as a redcoat and chalet-maid. After that, she started her career as a journalist, working for the Bridgwater Mercury and the Bournemouth Evening Echo.
