On January 17, 2024, WWE 2K updated its Twitter profile with the new WWE 2K24 logo release date of January 22, 2024. They also posted an apparent image of the judge's shirt, with Stone Cold Steve Austin tagged in the tweet.

On January 22, 2024, Cody Rhodes was confirmed as the cover star of the Standard Edition, while Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair of The Judgment Day were the cover stars of the Deluxe Edition. It was also announced to release the "40 Years of WrestleMania" edition featuring the WrestleMania XL stadium and five playable Superstars. MyRise -mode introduces two new stories. Unleashed and Undisputed. All editions will be available on different platforms.
