She trained him to excel in dressage, cross country, and show jumping, achieving significant success, including a sixth-place finish at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event. After Annie's death, her father, Putter Goodwin, asked Boyd Martin to take care of Bruno, which he gladly did. Described by Martin as sharp and innately talented, Bruno has a calm demeanor but is energetic once he starts moving. Martin and Bruno now aim to fulfill the dreams Annie had for him.
