Brian McCann, selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 2002 MLB Draft, made his MLB debut on June 10, 2005. He quickly made an impact, hitting a home run in his second game and becoming the first Braves player to hit a home run in his first playoff at-bat. McCann was named the starting catcher after the Braves traded Johnny Estrada.
