With their success, they had troubles and parted ways in 1970. Both went on to pursue solo careers. They reformed for a few tasks, including a large show in Central Park in 1981 that was popular.

Simon and Garfunkel won seven Grammys and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. They are remembered as one of the best folk-rock duos in history, having sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Simon & Garfunkel, an American duo, have made a lot of music since they started in 1957. They began as Tom & Jerry before becoming Simon & Garfunkel. Their first album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M, didn't do well at first in 1964. But when they added electric instruments to The Sound of Silence, it became a hit. Their second album, Sounds of Silence, came out in 1966 and did even better. It included hits like I Am a Rock.

In 1966, they released Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, which had five popular songs. Then, in 1968, Bookends went to number one in the US and UK. Their last album together, Bridge over Troubled Water, came out in 1970 and was their biggest success, selling over 25 million copies worldwide.
