Former BYU basketball player Steph Rovetti started the match, and Alex Sedrick, from Salt Lake City, scored a try at the end of the game.
In the first half, Alev Kelter scored first for the U.S., but Brazil tied the game at 5-5 after an injury break. Sammy Sullivan then scored for the U.S., leading 12-5 at halftime. In the second half, Ilona Maher scored another try, making it 17-5. Alex Sedrick scored the last try of the match. The U.S. finished with a 24-5 win.
