Does Shadow of the Erdtree Have Achievements?
Shadow of the Erdtree does not feature any new achievements or trophies for players on PlayStation and Xbox to pursue. It may seem unjust to defeat the challenging final boss and not receive a trophy or achievement for the effort, but that's the current situation. FromSoftware opted not to introduce additional goals to achieve, so players will need to rely on the original list.
For those who diligently pursued the Platinum trophy, there may be a sense of disappointment. There remains the possibility that developers could add achievements in the future, but for now, gameplay is purely for enjoyment. Players should continue to monitor for updates. Meanwhile, discovering how to acquire the Blade of Mercy and navigate back to the Lands Between could offer new adventures.

The expansion was first announced on Twitter by the official Elden Ring account on February 28th, 2023. A gameplay trailer came out on February 21st, 2024, followed by a story trailer on May 21st, 2024. The DLC was released on June 21st, 2024.
Elden Ring Gameplay
Elden Ring is an action-packed role-playing game where players explore a vast open world called the Lands Between. Set in third-person view, it shares similarities with other games by FromSoftware like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Players ride their mount, Torrent, across varied landscapes like Limgrave's grassy plains and Caelid's undead-infested wasteland. They encounter NPCs, powerful enemies, and demigods ruling each area as main bosses.
At the start, players choose a character class influencing their spells, equipment, and abilities. Combat ranges from close melee to ranged attacks with weapons and spells. Blocking with shields and dodging are crucial for survival. Players upgrade weapons using ashes of war, each adding special abilities for strategic advantage. Crafting items, found in scattered cookbooks, requires gathering materials from enemies or exploration.
The game features sites of grace as checkpoints for leveling up, changing abilities, and fast travel. Death results in losing runes, collected as currency from defeated foes. Multiplayer allows cooperative play by summoning others or PvP combat through duels or invasions using specific items.
Elden Ring Plot
In Elden Ring, players control the Tarnished, who begins their journey guided by Melina, receiving the steed Torrent and a mission to reach the Erdtree. They gather at Roundtable Hold under Two Fingers' guidance, tasked with collecting Great Runes to fix the Elden Ring.
After acquiring two Great Runes, the Tarnished defeats Morgott but finds the path blocked by thorns. Melina advises using the "Flame of Ruin" or forming a pact with the corrupt "Frenzied Flame". Choosing the Flame of Ruin results in Melina sacrificing herself, while the Frenzied Flame option leads to her abandonment.
Burning the Erdtree allows access after defeating Maliketh and using the Rune of Death. Inside, they confront Radagon and the Elden Beast, then reach Marika's corpse holding the Elden Ring's remains. The game offers six endings based on the Tarnished's decisions, including becoming Elden Lord or aligning with Ranni or the Frenzied Flame. In Shadow of the Erdtree, the Tarnished pursues Miquella, uncovering his bid for godhood with Radahn and Mohg, ultimately thwarting his plans.
