Ghost Ship Ending Explained
At the end of Ghost Ship, Maureen sets off explosives on the Graza, causing the ship to explode and Jack to be blown apart. As long as the ship floats, the souls of those who died on it are trapped. With the ship sinking, Katie helps Maureen escape.
Meanwhile, the other trapped souls, including Katie, are freed and ascend to Heaven. This means that with the destruction of the ship, the souls are no longer bound to it, and they can finally find peace after being stuck for so long.
Ghost Ship Cast Little Girl
In Ghost Ship, the character of the little girl, Katie Harwood, is played by Emily Browning. Katie is a ghost who was a passenger on the Antonia Graza when it disappeared in 1962. She is one of the few friendly spirits on the ship and helps Maureen, one of the salvage crew members, understand what happened.
Katie shows Maureen the truth about how everyone on the ship was killed. In the end, Katie helps Maureen escape before the ship sinks, and her spirit, along with the others, is freed to go to Heaven.

Ghost Ship Plot
In Ghost Ship, a salvage crew finds an abandoned ship, the Antonia Graza, in the Bering Sea. They discover gold but strange events start happening. Ghosts appear, and one by one, crew members die. Maureen, one of the survivors, learns that Jack, the man who led them to the ship, is actually a demon collecting souls for Hell.
Jack wants to keep the ship afloat to trap more souls. Maureen sets off explosives to destroy the ship, freeing the trapped souls, including a young girl named Katie. Maureen escapes, but Jack later reappears, leaving her terrified.
