How Does Vermithor Die in House of the Dragon?
In "House of the Dragon," Vermithor meets his end in the Second Battle of Tumbleton. Vermithor is initially claimed by Hugh Hammer, who rides him in several battles. During the battle, Hugh declares himself king but is killed by Jon Roxton.
Vermithor, now without a rider, is attacked by a group of knights. Despite killing many of them, Vermithor is ultimately brought down by the dragons Seasmoke and Tessarion. He manages to kill Seasmoke by ripping off its head, but Vermithor's wings are damaged by fire, causing him to fall from the sky and die.

What Happened to Vermithor?
In "House of the Dragon," Vermithor, an old and powerful dragon, dies in a major battle called the Second Battle of Tumbleton. Initially, Vermithor is ridden by Hugh Hammer, a man who turns against Rhaenyra Targaryen. During the battle, Hugh declares himself king but is killed by Jon Roxton.
With no rider, Vermithor faces a group of knights and fights fiercely. Although he manages to kill many of them and even takes down another dragon named Seasmoke, Vermithor is badly injured. His wings are damaged by fire during the fight, which makes it impossible for him to fly. Unable to support his weight, Vermithor falls from the sky and dies.
Who Rides Vermithors?
In House of the Dragon, Vermithor's last known rider was King Jaeherys Targaryen. Jaeherys was a king before Viserys, and he was known as a wise and long-reigning ruler. After Jaeherys's death, Vermithor, one of the largest dragons in Westeros, remained riderless for a time.
The dragon, known for its fearsome reputation, was called the Bronze Fury. In the series, when new riders come to try and claim Vermithor, the dragon initially resists, causing trouble for those who attempt to mount him. The process of claiming a dragon often involves proving oneself worthy, and Vermithor's previous rider Jaeherys adds weight to the challenge of finding a new suitable rider.
