Is Godzilla Minus One a Sequel?

No, Godzilla Minus One is not a sequel. It's a standalone film set in post-war Japan and is separate from any American Godzilla movies or previous films made by Toho Studios. As Godzilla approaches, the crew prepares for the final showdown.

Godzilla Minus One Ending

In the end, Shikishima crashes his plane into Godzilla's mouth, destroying its head and causing its body to tear apart. He ejects safely, urging Tachibana to let go of guilt. Shikishima reunites with Noriko, who survived, but Godzilla's flesh begins to regenerate as it sinks into the ocean.
