Who is Hugh Hammer?

Hugh Hammer, also called Hugh the Hammer or Hard Hugh, is a character from A Song of Ice and Fire and its TV show House of the Dragon. He is a blacksmith's illegitimate son with Valyrian heritage who plays a key role in the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.

Initially, Hugh supported Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and rode a dragon named Vermithor. But he later betrayed Rhaenyra and joined the Greens, who backed King Aegon II Targaryen. Hugh became infamous for burning the town of Tumbleton and killing many people there, alongside his ally Ulf White.

Known for his great strength and combat skills, Hugh also had a knack for manipulation. He wanted to become king but did not succeed. In the TV show, he is played by Kieran Bew.

House Of the Dragons

House of the Dragon is an American TV show created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. It's a prequel to "Game of Thrones" and the second show in Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
