It is unknown whether Maya is leaving Station 19 or not as no official announcement found regarding her departure. These speculations started circulating after the series' storyline. In the latest episode, Carina finds out she's pregnant. There was a lot of foreshadowing between her and Maya. Maya told Carina, "I'll see you at home" at the medic tent and later texted her about wanting lasagna. Usually, this type of scene always ends up in a sad ending so fans are worrying that Maya may die.

The stress is even higher because next week is the series finale. Killing Maya in the last episode would add a lot of drama but would fall into the harmful "bury your gays" trope. The show has supported the LGBTQ community from the start, so it's hard to believe they would kill Maya just as she and Carina are starting their family.
